Core training
Once you’re approved, you’ll begin your Year 1 Training Pathway—a blend of in-person and online learning designed to help you feel confident and capable in your new role.
Your core training includes:
- Foster Carer Induction
- Protective Care (formerly Safe Care Training)
- Safeguarding
- Trauma Awareness
- First Aid
- Information Sharing (eLearning)
- Equality and Diversity (eLearning)
- E-safety (eLearning)
You’ll also be encouraged to explore optional specialist courses tailored to your interests or the needs of the children you care for, including:
- ADHD Awareness
- Supporting Grief and Loss
- Sleep Workshops
